The Amazon Robotics hiring process usually starts with an online assessment, then moves to a single interview round. This interview typically includes two behavioral questions about leadership principles and one coding problem, often involving BFS graph traversal.
First, there was a 30-minute automated questions round where the camera turns on after you've had a moment to read the question. Then, I had two virtual interview rounds with different team members. The interviews had a mix of technical questions, like estimation and defining PID control, and general questions, such as discussing a project where I faced and overcame a challenge. The overall vibe was pretty casual.
It was super quick and easy! Very simple process. They didn't want short answers though, I ended up writing a 12-page essay. In hindsight, I probably should have just given them short answers. But I heard Amazon is stopping that kind of testing now, which is awesome for new robotics engineers.
