The interview process was pretty quick, taking about 2 weeks overall. It had 5 stages: first, a recruiter screening call. Then, a peer interview with another TAM. After that, a collaboration interview with the AE and SE who support the team's accounts. The next step was a case study where I had to analyze a dataset and create a presentation for the customer about the results of using Altana's tools. Finally, there was a meeting with the hiring manager to answer any remaining questions about the critical skills for the job. Everyone was super nice throughout the process, made time for my questions, and helped me out before the case study.
The whole process from applying to the final decision took approximately 5 weeks. There were 2 interviews in total, including one HR discussion about the compensation package and one writing assignment. The most challenging aspect was finding the time to complete the writing assignment, given that I'm currently employed. The HR team and the interviewing employees were quite friendly and knowledgeable. Communication throughout the entire process was excellent.
So I had this coding challenge, like live coding, focused on data management and thinking through all the edge cases. After that, we moved onto a systems design architecture review for data-intensive platforms. The final part was behavioral questions, about working on engineering teams. It was all done in a live python editor and they were strict about only using vanilla python, no pandas allowed.
