About 15 people including myself were interviewed by two workers. We stood in a circle, introduced ourselves and then broke into small groups of 3-4 people. Our group had to create an outfit for a chosen scenario (like red carpet or wedding) within 10-15 minutes. After that, we regrouped and each gave a brief presentation about the outfit. Finally, I spoke individually with the manager about my availability. The whole thing was pretty chill and casual, but it's tough to stand out since it's a group activity, so I'm not sure how they decide who to hire.
The interview process had 3 stages: a very brief recruiter call (like 2 mins, no screening or salary talk, just scheduling), then an interview with a 'Head of', and finally with the CFO. The recruiter was unprofessional - didn't screen me or mention salary (which was way below market), and then ghosted me for 7 days after the final round when the CFO said they wanted to wrap things up quickly. They ignored my follow-ups and just sent a short email saying I was unsuccessful, without explaining the delay. The recruiter then said 'there should be a lot of turnover in the team in the next few months', which felt like a Freudian slip.
The hiring manager will first chat about your work history, then ask some typical questions for stylists, like asking why you picked being a stylist and what it means to you.
