It was a friendly assessment centre. There were two interviews: one with HR (going over my CV, why I wanted to work for Aker, etc.) and one "technical" interview. After that, there was a group exercise which was easy. Then, I had to give a 5-minute presentation on something I'm passionate about. Tip: talk about a hobby, they appreciate an interesting presentation. Heads up: I got an offer, but it was withdrawn 2 weeks later because they decided not to hire due to cost-cutting. Be careful if you're just looking for contractor roles.
Show interest in the oil and gas industry by researching the company and its employees. Be honest about the job scope during the interview, rather than just saying yes to everything. Staying calm while communicating is key.
Out of 4000 applicants, only 30 were invited for the interview. We took a small trip around the manufacturing area. Overall management did a good job organizing the interview, which lasted from morning till evening. It included group discussions, a written exam, and a presentation of our final year projects.
