I applied for a local driving job where I'd be home every night. The interview process itself was really quick and seamless, and they made an offer on the spot. However, the background check is really extensive and takes a long time for some reason. In my experience, it took over 30 days before I could start.
The process is pretty self-explanatory, you'll usually get a phone interview to begin with then an in person with local manager. usually will finish up with HR personnel and district manager.
The interview process was really cumbersome. HR seemed to think it was beneath them to deal with the people who actually service the customers. The background check alone takes 3-7 days, plus a drug test, and the whole process took 6 weeks. I got the impression they were very lazy, with no return of calls and generally contemptuous. The head HR person seemed to think she was better than everyone else. It's some of the worst HR I've ever encountered, and management is obviously encouraging this behavior.
