Airbnb Frontend Engineer interviews, decoded.

It started with a recruiter chat, followed by a technical phone screen. The onsite interviews included technical assessments and personality/fit evaluations, with one interview happening during lunch. The team was very approachable. To ensure fairness, they don't review any prior information about candidates to assess skills objectively. The recruiter was helpful in scheduling around my busy deadlines and an upcoming vacation. The overall experience felt smooth and efficient.

I made it to round 3. First up was a recruiter chat about my motivations and why I want to work with them. Then came two phone interviews with engineers from San Francisco, done via Coderpad. It was pretty pleasant overall; they were helpful. The only downsides were doing the interviews after work due to time zones and having trouble hearing one of the interviewers on the second call.

Round 1: a coding challenge to be done online, with a time limit of about one hour, must pass their test cases. Round 2: a 15 min phone interview to discuss your code from round 1. (If you are interviewing for a full-stack role, they might invite you for an onsite interview. Or if you already have an offer, you can still discuss with them to skip the second phone interview) Round 3: another phone interview focusing on front-end topics, mostly javascript.
