Not really happy with how this went. I wrote code that worked, but I was rejected because of how I displayed the output. I used System.out.println(y + "," + x) instead of System.out.println(x + "," + y). The interviewer seemed inexperienced and cold. The bar for bug-free code was incredibly high, higher than I've experienced anywhere else. You need to be prepared to write completely bug-free code quickly. The whole process felt unrefined, and Airbnb could really improve their interview training. Interviewers should be more helpful and not reject candidates for just one or two bugs.
I had two phone coding challenges on different days. I did well enough on the first to advance to the second. I felt I absolutely crushed the second challenge with a super efficient and working solution. But then they told me I didn't have enough experience, which is fine, I'm not mad. But they really wasted my time with the coding questions since they already had my resume, so I'm giving this a bad rating.
The tech rounds and leadership round were a good learning experience. The panel interaction was good. They tested on various skills. There were 2 rounds focused on Tech and 2 on leadership. Coding and system design was covered.
