I noticed pretty early on that in company-wide pictures on their website most of the employees presented as white, and as far as I know their leadership team is all white. During a late stage interview with a leader at the company I asked about diversity and inclusion. The interviewer seemed confused by what I was asking and why I would be asking that. They replied that, in terms of inclusion, everyone has the same level of access to software/information. In terms of diversity, they hire the best candidates for the job. If you care about D&I (as you should!), be aware.
I really enjoyed the whole interview process. It felt like a two-way street, checking if Aha! was a good fit for me and if I was a good fit for Aha!. Everyone I talked to made me feel comfortable. They were truly interested in getting to know me beyond just my skills and experience. Each part of the process highlighted how special Aha! is and why finding the right fit is so important. I was also impressed by how quickly things moved. Aha! values making decisions promptly. Every stage is clearly laid out, which helps them decide fast so everyone can move on. This was a super enjoyable and informative experience.
I spoke with four people over a couple of weeks. All interviews were done over video call, so you need good internet and a quiet spot. The interviewers were organized and didn't make me repeat myself. It was informational, I talked about my past work and learned about Aha! and the culture. The whole thing moved fast, about two weeks from the first call to the offer, with six video calls total. I felt like a priority.
