We had an online interview on Teams. They asked about my previous research experience. Then they introduced their project and what skills I could learn. It was mostly an easy conversation. No behavioral or scenario questions were asked.
So at A*STAR, the interview was pretty structured and made me think. It had three main parts: first, an HR chat, then a technical interview with a panel, and finally, a chat with management. The panel really wanted to dig deep into my past research, asking about the logic and how I did things, not just what I got. They seem to like people who can show how their work fits with Singapore’s RIE goals. You gotta be ready - know your resume perfectly and be prepared to defend your tech choices in a formal setting under pressure.
I had a quick chat about the project I'm working on. We talked about my responsibilities during the internship and what they expect from me. They also asked a bit about me and how I can help with the project.
