Candidate-reported interview process

The interview was supposed to be in person but ended up being a video call because of the coronavirus. The interviewer was a really nice guy and asked questions directly related to the role, and it was super easy to chat with him. The interview was scheduled for an hour, though I'm not sure if it ran that long. I never felt like I was being rushed. We mostly talked about what I'd be doing as an intern and my previous work experience.

The interview started with a sales pitch to about 20 applicants. Two weeks later, I had a meeting with the Manager. He seemed nice enough but didn't mention salary or expenses, only that it was 100% commission. I wasn't sure if Aflac would cover office space, phone, computer, fax, and leads. The job involved 50% cold calling and 50% pounding the pavement. It felt like a pyramid scheme. I considered studying for the health and life insurance tests to get licensed, but the healthcare laws change yearly and are too complex. I felt the market was over-saturated with sales reps, making it unlikely to earn money.

It wasn't really an interview. It was more like everyone was in one room and got taught about Aflac. Then, if you thought you were a good fit, you'd give your resume to the person leading the meeting.
