Aegon Project Manager interviews, decoded.

I applied with my CV and then had a Teams interview. The interview itself was a presentation of a project update to stakeholders, followed by some competency questions. The whole thing took about 3 weeks.

I had an online call with two senior managers. They both asked the usual competency questions. Given my 15+ years of experience, I was surprised one manager spent so much time asking about my degree choices. I thought they would ask more relevant questions about the position and my recent experience. There wasn't much engagement from either manager to build a rapport. They seemed disinterested and bored. I'm glad I wasn't invited further because I wouldn't have gone anyway, and I expected them, as the first point of contact, to represent the company values! The interview lasted an hour.

Had a few interviews and meetings with the management team. They made me feel welcome and asked good questions. They were interested in my career development and aspirations. Ultimately, I was hired for the position.
