Candidate-reported interview process

The interviewer spent most of the time talking about the company and their own background. The exact responsibilities of the job weren't very clear, but they seemed to be looking for someone with established connections at the C-level who would accept a compensation package that was low to average. I didn't get much chance to highlight my strengths or explain what I could bring to the company. The main focus was on immediate industry connections, even though it's a new team without a manager or any support staff.

Magnasoft has a really long hiring process for their Business Development role; they've actually reached out to me twice over the past year. It's a lengthy procedure, similar to what a top-tier company would do, where they might even ask you to develop a Business Plan for potential business ventures. They are looking for top talent but offer very low salaries, so I'd advise against wasting your time with their openings. Interestingly, they don't seem to spend any money on in-person interviews, as all rounds are conducted over the phone, which is quite typical for some companies.

I was contacted by the hiring manager, someone I had worked with before. We talked on the phone a few times, and then I had an in-person interview with them and their boss. They asked expected questions and a few unexpected ones, like what the ultimate deciding factor is for hiring someone, and some easy, open-ended questions to see how I think on my feet. After that, the hiring manager called to go over the in-person interview and asked if I wanted to continue, followed by typical HR phone calls.
