The interview was easygoing and pleasant. They were very open and straightforward about the process and what to expect. The recruiter was very friendly. Every step was explained. I didn’t accept the offer but I would consider applying again in the future.
I would not recommend applying to Adyen. There was no initial HR call, and the recruiter was unresponsive to my emails. I only received automated emails for meeting invitations. The first interview was with two frontend engineers who asked about my background. The second step was a confusing 1.5-hour coding assignment where one project did not compile, and another required a non-frontend technology solution instead of JavaScript, all under time pressure. I pointed out these issues in the third interview, but they were not addressed. The third interview was a live coding session based on the assignment, after which I received harsh feedback, including comments on my indentations.
I had an HR interview first, which was nice and informative. Then, I had a second interview with two engineers. They asked me some general questions about the work environment. After that, I got an email saying I didn't get the job because I seemed nervous.
