The interview process was really chill. I talked with two senior sales folks. It was a relaxed vibe. They did a mock cold call with me first, and then asked some questions based on how that went. The goal was to see if I could set up a meeting.
It began with a recruiter phone screen to see if we were a good fit. Next, I talked with the sales team manager to make sure my skills were what they were looking for and to get to know me. Then, I did a mock cold call. The last interview was a quick chat with the global VP of Sales.
I applied online and then had a quick phone screen with the recruiter. The recruiter initially said I didn't have the right experience (cold calling/emailing) despite it being on my resume. They then changed their mind, saying they were picky and needed someone with more tech experience, but would consider me for a more junior role. It felt like a waste of time since they knew I wasn't a fit from the start. I'm also unsure about the expectations for moving into an SDR role from another tech sales position.
