Candidate-reported interview process

The interview process felt pretty medieval and out of place for today's job market. After applying, there was a GMAT-style math test, which seemed odd since MBA candidates would already have a GMAT score. Most of the interview time was spent on HR-type questions rather than assessing business skills. They asked about strengths/weaknesses and for examples of leadership and honesty, which took up a lot of time. It's surprising they don't use standard pre-interview assessments like Pymetrics or DISC to gauge behavioral qualities, as that would be more accurate than relying on HR interviewers, who didn't seem like senior leaders, to judge leadership. Overall, it was an outdated experience.

So after passing a numerical online test, I had a Skype interview with the recruiter which lasted about 40 minutes. The recruiter was really nice and explained the interview structure at the start. We began with a quick intro from them, then I gave a 5-minute presentation about myself and my work experience. After that, there were about 5 business case questions related to the insurance industry, Admiral Group, and my own creative ideas. I finished by asking my questions for the last 5 minutes.

The interview process was pretty standard, but it took a long time - 41 days from when I was first contacted to when I heard back. The phone interview was supposed to be 3.5 weeks after they reached out, but it actually took over a month to get it set up. It was scheduled for 45 minutes but went on for 75 minutes. They asked typical questions like "walk me through your resume," plus two short case studies (one HR-related and one for business development/strategy), and then I had time to ask about the job and company.
