A recruiter contacted me about a Senior Java developer position. After I sent my CV, I didn't hear back for almost two weeks. When I followed up, she said my profile wasn't a good fit according to her colleagues. This whole thing shows bad communication and team misalignment. It's unprofessional to keep candidates waiting without updates or clear reasons, especially when they reach out first. It wastes time and isn't respectful.
It was a very friendly process. They asked about my skills, specifically in Java EE, and what I expect from the job. They also explained the trainee program and asked about my willingness to relocate. Since they are very project-dependent, the hiring process right now is mainly based on finding a suitable project for you.
The first chat went well, I mostly talked about myself, my studies, and what I'm up to. The interviewer gave a rundown of Adesso and their stuff. I'd applied for a paid working student gig in Java. The second interview was super technical and went on for almost 2 hours – which I thought was a lot for a student position. Afterward, I got an offer for an unpaid role (as an internship), which didn't match the job description at all and wasn't what I applied for. Such a waste of time and energy!
