Aderant Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

The whole thing was pretty fast, they really wanted to move things along quickly. First, I had a chat with the recruiter, then a call with the Engineering Manager, and finally a 1.5-hour technical interview. That tech interview was split into three 30-minute segments: coding, SQL, and system design. My only gripe is with the technical interview itself; there were two people from Aderant, and they kept cutting each other off and jumping in with suggestions, which was pretty confusing. Not sure if they did it on purpose or just lacked coordination.

The interviewer seemed inexperienced and expected me to explain the role and interview myself. It was hard to take the meeting seriously because the hiring managers lacked attention and thoughtfulness. The interview told me everything I needed to know.

I was sent a task to propose an app idea related to their software before the interview. I had to explain my idea, and then they asked some technical questions. The interviewer wasn't the best communicator.
