Candidate-reported interview process

It was a friendly, long panel interview with 6 people. I had to create and present a deck about a scenario where I had to come up with a proposal and convince the client.

Got a referral from a friend who had good things to say about Addepar. Had an initial call with the recruiter. It seemed like they were trying to lowball me, and they even admitted they don't always label jobs with the right salary ranges or what they actually pay. The recruiter also made the interview process sound pretty rough, saying the case study is intentionally scrutinized as if a client were reviewing it. From my experience as an implementation specialist, client questions about offerings and services are usually legitimate, not attempts to test abilities or make you fail.

The interview process started with a phone screening and then moved to a 30-min interview with a team member. The first interviewer was nice and attentive. The second interviewer was rude and didn't seem to care. Then there was a case study interview that took a few hours to prepare. In that interview, we roleplayed me as the PM and the 4 interviewers as clients. The interviewers were rude, hostile, and asked unfair questions, yelling over each other. It felt like a stress test and left a negative impression.
