I had one prescreen with HR. Then, I had a virtual interview with 3 Account Directors. It felt like they weren't giving me their full attention and were multitasking, which turned me off. They also mentioned Summer Fridays but one director said they haven't taken one in years. When I asked about flexible schedules because of my kids, I was told 'work comes first.' This told me the agency didn't align with my values, and overall it was an off-putting interview.
The interview process started off smoothly and they were attentive, moving through the steps pretty quickly. After asking for references, they dangled the job offer for 3 weeks then sent a generic email saying I didn’t get the job, without calling or using my name. They also had me contact old bosses for a lengthy review for no reason, which felt dehumanizing. I think I dodged a bullet given how they treat people during interviews.
So I had this initial screening call, and then I got moved to a panel interview with 4 people. Each interview was 30 minutes long. It was supposed to be all 4 back-to-back on the same day, but 2 of them had to reschedule. Oh, and at one point, some random person from the team accidentally joined my call, which was pretty awkward but also kinda funny. My last two interviews were on a Monday, and they said I'd hear back by the end of the week. Never happened. They totally ghosted me. It sucks because I really liked the people I interviewed with and felt like I did well. It's unprofessional to just leave someone hanging, especially when they've put in hours for your company.
