Ad Hoc (DC) Frontend Engineer interviews, decoded.

DO NOT APPLY HERE! THEY WILL GHOST YOU! I applied on their site, they sent me a link to their technical assignments. I also spoke to several recruiters over the phone and had 2 interviews with developers. I thought everything was going well. It took me around 2 days to finish the assignments, they were easy but were very time consuming. I spent all that time working on the assignments and yet they don't have 2 min to reply to my follow up email. I wasted my entire weekend on these assignments. I don't understand why these people ghost candidates. I for one will absolutely never work with the 3 recruiters who I interacted with at Ad Hoc, even if they go to a different company.

I applied online and got an email asking me to do one of two homework assignments. I did it, and it passed all the tests and was well-commented, doing everything asked. About 10 days later, I got a rejection email without any feedback, and they said I could re-apply in six months. I don't mind homework but rejecting me without telling me why is a waste of time.

I went through a few phone screenings, then had two homework assignments to do, followed by two formal interviews. After all that, they ghosted me. No rejection email, no follow-up after the in-person interviews. A simple rejection or followup email would have been nice, especially after I spent so much time preparing, doing the homework, and talking with recruiters and interviewing. I was even referred by someone who works there.
