Acxiom Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

First up was an in-person chat with a recruiter at the Warsaw office. It was all non-tech talk, mostly checking out my English speaking skills. Then, another onsite meeting at the Warsaw office, but this time the tech folks were phoning in from the US. The Polish recruiter just listened in, while the US team hit me with tech questions over the phone. The questions weren't too tough, covering basics like relational databases, Perl, shell scripting, and Linux.

It was one phone call followed by an onsite interview. I spoke with several people. Some questions were good, others not so much. I just want to write 30 words to get past reading other comments.

Had two phone calls. The first one was super quick and just for info. The second one was longer, discussing what the team does and seeing if I'd be into it. After that, I went on-site for an interview with the dev leader and the senior architect who would end up hiring me. It was a pretty general chat about my experience with data, SQL, and using the Linux command line. They didn't ask me to solve any problems or do any whiteboard algorithm stuff. It was a really straightforward interview.
