After a few interview rounds with the hiring manager and a team panel, which were scheduled at their convenience, I got ghosted for over three weeks. No replies to my follow-ups, no status updates, not even an automated rejection. I wasn't asking for detailed feedback, just basic closure. As a professional from a top-tier organization, I spent a lot of time and effort on this. It's disappointing and disrespectful to see the same position reposted repeatedly while candidates are left with no communication. Hiring is a two-way commitment. A simple status update costs nothing, but silence wastes time, erodes trust, and reflects poorly on the employer brand. Candidates deserve better.
The interview had 3 stages, 2 technical and 1 behavioral, which wasn't too bad. The technical parts were fairly straightforward, just make sure you can explain your thinking and discuss alternative methods you might use.
I applied online and had a quick phone call with the recruiter to start. Then, I had 4 separate 30-minute interviews over 3 days. None of them were technical interviews. The first one was just behavioral questions and stuff from my resume. The second and fourth interviews also covered my resume and included some technical questions about Python, Software Engineering, and Data Science/ML. The third interview was behavioral, focusing on my resume and the role I'd be doing.
