Candidate-reported interview process

It began with a 30-minute recruiter phone chat, then a 75-minute video call with the hiring manager. The next week, I went to the Decatur facility for about 2 hours of on-site panel interviews. I met with 3 different panels (each with 2-3 people from engineering management, design, and product management). We mainly discussed my resume and some behavioral things, not many technical questions. It felt pretty chill.

Got a call from the Acuity Brands Recruiter for a general screening. Then, the recruiter set up a 30-minute phone call with the Principle Design Engineer. This interview focused on my past experiences and the skills I applied, going into detail about the work I had done, the technologies involved, and my specific role.

I talked to the VP of my engineering department and a few engineering managers. They all asked about my past design work. They wanted to know about my design process or objectives and my background to see if I was a good designer. Some people explained how their divisions work and how my team worked (or maybe how it's dysfunctional). The questions weren't super deep, kind of shallow overall.
