The interview started with a good HR screen, but the next interview was pretty disappointing. The interviewer seemed checked out, was distracted on his computer during the behavioral part, and even walked away mid-conversation once without explaining. It was supposed to be about role fit, but it wasn't what I expected. I got a vague system design question, and he got annoyed when I asked for more details. He also asked trivia about a language I said I could use but wasn't an expert in. When I asked questions at the end, he was uninterested and condescending. Basic respect is important.
The interview involved a technical and HR screening, where they asked about basic OOPs concepts (Java), past projects, and a puzzle (like those on GeeksforGeeks), along with basic DSA questions such as finding the frequency of elements in an array. This was followed by a remote interview with a US-based panel.
After a 4-hour interview for a Junior Software Developer role, I was told I'd get feedback on next steps, but the company has completely ghosted me. It's been over a week and a half with no response despite my emails, calls, and voicemails. That 4-hour interview time is gone, and I felt it went well, even getting positive feedback from the interviewers. However, not providing formal feedback afterward is discourteous and unprofessional. Other candidates should be aware.
