Abodewell Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

A recruiter reached out to me without any company details and asked me to complete a two-hour HackerRank test. The test wasn't super hard, but the time limit was really tight – five questions in under two hours. I can't say much about the whole process since I didn't pass, but if you can nail those five questions in two hours, you deserve a high salary (140k+ in Austin). The difficulty was similar to Amazon/Google, but they don't ask for five questions in that timeframe.

This interview had technical questions about basic architecture, algorithms, and time complexity, followed by 30 minutes of behavioral questions. I didn't pass this part, but I know the next step would have been an onsite interview.

The interview process started with a coding challenge where I had to write a data sorting algorithm. If I passed that, there was a phone interview with their Technical Advisor. The last step was an on-site interview which involved building a React app from scratch. All the steps were challenging but fair, and overall it was a positive experience.
