Candidate-reported interview process

The interview process was really well organized. The first part was a phone screen, which felt more like a casual chat with the Manager. Then, I had an onsite interview where I met with the Engineering and Quality management. They asked me about my background as a graduate student, my skills in statistics, my interest in Abiomed, and about FMEA.

I had two interviews, first with HR, then with the team lead. After that, I had a trial work day where I could show my skills and get to know the team and tasks better.

A recruiter from JNJ Abiomed reached out about a manufacturing quality engineer role. The recruiter mentioned they might sponsor. After I interviewed with the manager, I got an email saying I was a great fit and they'd update me. But after weeks of checking in, I was told they decided against sponsorship. It felt like poor communication and coordination throughout the process.
