So first, I chatted with the recruiter, just to make sure I had the right skills and background for the role. After that, I interviewed with the hiring manager, and we went over my coding abilities and technical stuff.
First, I had a virtual call with the recruiter to go over basics like my start date and if I needed Visa sponsorship. After that, I hopped on a Zoom with the Director of Software Engineering in Test for some conceptual programming questions. Lastly, I did a technical video call with an Engineer where they asked two programming questions.
The interview process was pretty standard. It started with a phone screen, then a technical screen, and finished with a virtual onsite. Everyone on the team was really nice, but a 6-hour onsite interview plus a 30-minute presentation felt like a lot for an entry-level role. The technical questions were harder than expected (like LC-medium), which was surprising for a 'test' role. The job description asked for a software tester, but the interview was geared towards a software engineer, which made the whole experience a bit confusing and left me feeling unprepared. Even though the questions were tough and the interview was long, I learned a lot and it was a good overall experience.
