Behavioral

I applied for this role using my school's co-op portal. They had one virtual interview with some basic behavioural questions. I'm not sure if there were more interview rounds after that. There weren't any technical questions or case studies.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I had 5 interviews in total, with each interview having 1-2 people. So, I interviewed with 7 people in total, not counting the recruiter screening call. My first interview was with the Senior Executive Producer for the project. After that, I interviewed with peers and team members who would be working on the project. Everyone I met was really nice and seemed genuinely happy to work at Zynga. They were all super kind and passionate about their work, and I would have enjoyed working with them. The project itself sounded interesting, and the role seemed appealing too. The team culture seemed great, with everyone sharing a passion for making good games and supporting each other. However, I wasn't that excited to join the company when they made an offer. The role I applied for involved working late every weekday because of collaborations with people on different continents. I was told the workday would be busiest from 3 pm until 8 pm. The project's management structure seemed a bit old-fashioned, very top-down. Instead of focusing on making a high-quality project, the interviews were more about my ability to track velocity and meet deadlines. I would be open to applying to Zynga again in the future, perhaps for a different project, but I don't think I would have been a good fit for this particular project.

The interview process was really nice. It started with a phone chat with the recruiter, followed by one with the hiring manager. Then, they invited me for an in-person meeting where I got to chat with the hiring manager and the whole team. It was a very welcoming experience from the start, with a puppy greeting me and a goodie bag. The interviews felt relaxed and conversational, making me feel at ease.
