It was tough but fair. Lots of people were involved. The process wasn't really well thought out. They were very detailed on the technical evaluation. Really smart people. The environment seemed quite chaotic and would suit those who thrive in that kind of setting.

It was fairly straight forward, asking about technical skills and the PCR procedure. They also asked about my strong and weak points. It was a fun interview because I learned about myself as well.

Behavioral Technical

I was taken to the interview room by the recruiter, but then I waited over 20 minutes past the scheduled time. Turns out, two of the interviewers had already left for the day. The people who ended up interviewing me just started asking questions right away without even looking at my resume copies. They asked me about having kids or if I planned to have them soon. I found it really unprofessional and potentially illegal. It was off-putting, and I felt like because I'm a woman, the male interviewers focused on my future plans (10+ questions) instead of my technical skills (only 1 or 2 questions). This experience was bothersome, and the thought of working for a sexist company made it easy for me to turn down their offer.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Are you a parent?
  • Are you planning to have children in the near future?
