This was the craziest interview process ever. I started with the hiring manager, and he really liked me, saying he'd hire me no matter what. Then I had two more interviews. One interviewer doubted my cultural fit, so the hiring manager scheduled another call to check it again, which went fine. HR called with an offer, but then called back a few days later saying they wanted a 4th round to assess my cultural fit again with someone else. I was shocked and told the hiring manager I wasn't interested. He convinced me to do the 4th round, and as expected, HR called later to say the offer was revoked. With nearly 20 years in the industry, I've never seen anything like it. They seemed so uncoordinated and unsure of what they wanted. They'd ask the same question in different ways, and different people gave me conflicting info about the job. It was chaotic.

The recruiter was super helpful in matching me to the right QA role, as they had multiple openings at different levels. They were upfront about the process and timeline, and even worked with my schedule. I had a helpful prep session before a series of interviews over two days. Since it was remote, they thoughtfully scheduled breaks between interviews. The team members I met were well-prepared and a pleasure to chat with. They asked great, thought-provoking questions about my background and how I could contribute. The whole experience made me feel confident in the team and their work, and how much fun they seem to be.

I got in touch with an old coworker about a job opening and then I was promptly scheduled for phone screenings with the Hiring Manager and the Recruiter. After some really good talks about the role and my background, I had multiple interviews over two days. My Recruiter gave me a heads-up on the main topics for each interview pair, which was super helpful as I prepped for the 3+ hours of interviews. This level of transparency was amazing and something I'd never experienced before in a job search. Everyone was really professional; even when two interviewers were running late, I got an email and an apology at the start. I didn't get an offer this time, but I'm definitely keeping an eye out for future roles.
