Zurich Insurance Actuarial Analyst Interview Questions
& Process

The interview was 2 hours long. The first hour focused on competency-based questions, like asking about times you've demonstrated certain skills or what you'd do in hypothetical scenarios. The second hour was dedicated to technical skills, covering basic probability and combinatorics.

So for this Actuarial Analyst position at Zurich Insurance, I actually had three in-person interviews, which was more than the usual two, because they wanted to double-check some things with me. All the interviews were face-to-face, no phone calls, and they got progressively more technical. The main focus was on actuarial and statistical concepts. The questions were challenging, really testing my problem-solving abilities, my technical know-how, and how I could use analytical thinking in real-world scenarios. Many questions required me to go into detail explaining methods, making sense of data, and thinking logically under pressure.

My experience involved an initial one-on-one interview, followed by a cognitive test. After that, there was a group interview with about 6 people, held on one of two possible dates. The final step will be another one-on-one interview.
