So there were 5 rounds total. First was technical, asking about my experience. Second was about teamwork but really just went over my resume again. Third was a use case where I had to draw out the entire customer order process from start to finish and discuss the systems. They also asked what questions I'd ask to set up a new fast food business. Fourth was listening and communication, again mostly background and behavioral. Fifth was about individual contribution, which involved talking about my background and drawing out any system design I knew.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

A Zuora recruiter hit me up on LinkedIn. After some back and forth, they set up onsite interviews at their Foster City HQ with the management team, who seemed really nice. The sales execs asked some tougher questions, which I expected. The recruiting process then went downhill after the interviews. It took ages, over a month, to get any feedback. I kept reaching out to the recruiter, and they'd reply two weeks later saying feedback was "very positive" and they were checking with the hiring manager about "next steps." After two months of no response and no closure, which is typical bad behavior from Silicon Valley tech companies, I told them I wasn't interested anymore and was moving on. Then, the recruiter pulled me back in, and we scheduled phone calls with the hiring manager and two other employees. After those three calls went pretty well (in my opinion), the recruiter went silent again, even though they said they were still "moving forward." We had even discussed a start date. I've since moved on but wanted to warn others about Zuora's poor recruiting practices. It's a small valley, so I'm surprised to get this treatment as a senior candidate. It definitely doesn't help the Zuora brand.

Behavioral Technical

Applied online and got a call from the recruiter just 2 days later about a phone interview in 2 days with the hiring manager. The hiring manager had to reschedule once, but then we had the phone interview. Questions were mainly on my resume and some past experience/behavioral questions. After that, the recruiter let me know things went well and asked me to come onsite to meet the team. I had half a day at their HQ with 4 interviews with 4 different people (team members and managers) all in one day. The next day I got an offer. The recruiter kept me informed at all stages, which was refreshing compared to other slow and uncertain experiences.
