First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
Registered Respiratory Therapist
This interview process was intense and took up the entire scheduled time with in-depth questions. It really dug deep to test overall knowledge and critical thinking skills, unlike other interviews I've had. The employees conducting it were great and made me feel comfortable. Overall, it was a challenging but enjoyable experience, and I really liked the interview technique.
- Could you discuss your familiarity with inhaled nitric oxide and prostacyclin, and their applications?
Registered Nurse
I applied online via the sfdph website and had to fill out a really detailed questionnaire. HR then puts you on an eligibility list. They call you for an interview if you're near the top of the list. If not, the list expires in a year and you have to apply again. So, definitely put as much detail as you can into that questionnaire.
- What makes you want to join this organization?
- What are your qualifications for this role?
Surgical Technician
First they sent a questionnaire, and if you scored 700 or higher, you were ranked. After that, you were brought in for a panel interview where they reviewed gowning and gloving techniques, and asked some basic instrument identification and problem-solving questions.
- For what procedures would you use the basic instruments?
- What's your approach to dealing with issues with a colleague?
Medical Social Worker
I met with the Director and Supervisor. They reviewed my resume and asked some questions. They presented me with a couple of scenarios and added more details as the scenarios unfolded. They let me know this was a preliminary interview since they were interviewing numerous social workers for the roles.
- Respond to the given scenarios.
