Sales Manager
Started with a great recruiter who really got the GTM side of things, but then it went downhill. The VP interview was more of a sales pitch for a low OTE job, with a lot of talk about a low base and not much transparency about the sales org's issues. The VP seemed to be using a script to handle objections rather than having a real conversation, focusing on pipeline generation and retention. It was clear they're worried about reps leaving. The Sales Director interview was better; the director was humble and more candid about the sales org and patch issues, which seem critical. However, the interview with a Sales Rep was a disaster. The rep was disinterested, late, and unprepared, asking personal questions like marital status and if I had kids. The rep couldn't hold a conversation. After talking to other reps, I learned burnout and micromanagement are common. A major red flag was leadership not knowing about the rep's burnout. The process ended with a panel interview that required a significant unpaid presentation, including getting feedback from the burnt-out rep. The overall ask didn't match the offer. It felt like a startup grind without the startup compensation.
- Given your one-year tenure at your previous company, what's your commitment to staying with us if hired?
Sales Manager
The interview process included a phone screen with both a recruiter and the hiring manager. This was followed by an onsite meeting with the hiring manager, other sales leaders, and the head of sales. After that, there was a 60-minute presentation about the product/pitch. It felt like they were testing my cultural fit, which makes sense now that I'm here. I did a lot of research on the industry, company, and product, which was helpful since I'm new to this industry. Everyone I met was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, which is a great reflection of the people they hire.
- What is your understanding of the data center industry?
Senior Sales Manager
The process was very helpful, approachable, and responsive. Everyone was extremely friendly, even up to the WW VP. It really gave a sense of a positive company spirit. Once I received a verbal offer, they kept me updated daily on the internal approval status until the contract was finalized.
- What criteria would your employees need to meet to receive a high rating from you as their manager?
