I applied in November 2024 and heard back in December 2024 for a coding assessment. After that, it took two weeks for them to respond. We then set up an interview for mid-January, and I got an offer just 5 days later. I had two interviews back-to-back: first with Cindy Bickel and Christina Lewandowski, who are Manager of Product Culture and Manager of Product Operations, and then with Jeremiah Smith, the Director of Software Engineering. They were all super friendly interviewers. Cindy and Christina talked with me for about 20 minutes, mostly asking about my resume and some behavioral stuff. Then I spent another 20 minutes with Jeremiah, where he asked more technical questions about my experience, but no actual coding.

My experience with Zotec Partners was not great. They sent me a Woven assessment without telling me first, which was weird and felt unprofessional. It seemed like they didn't even check if I was a good fit before sending it. I did the assessment and Woven said I did great, a perfect score. But then Zotec Partners still rejected me. I was bummed because I never even got to talk to anyone from the company. The only contact I had was an automated rejection email. I'm not sure if Zotec Partners is actually hiring software engineers or if they're even a real company. Their communication was really bad and it left a poor impression. I wouldn't recommend applying if you don't want to waste your time.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • The Woven assessment included fixing a Python bug, emailing a fictional team member about the fix and its implementation, and emailing a fictional customer service rep about resolving a customer issue.
  • There was also a task to implement a password change alert for customers affected by a data breach.
  • The final question was about AWS, asking for the steps to set up authentication.
