Got a call back a couple days after applying. Then I had an HR interview. After that, it was kind of a panel interview with the hiring manager and a coworker. HR was easy, but the hiring manager was more technical.

The whole interview thing went on for about 6 weeks and had 5 rounds. It started with a recruiter call where they asked usual stuff like why I want to switch jobs and if I'm legally allowed to work. Then came a take-home test that took about an hour, mostly standard QA questions on test case design and sprints, you had to write a lot for this. After that, HR called to set up a 1-hour call with a Senior QA Engineer. That was pretty straightforward too, with questions about testing, test cases, and sprints. Next up was an onsite interview. I had to meet 5 people, each for 45 minutes. First was a SQA manager who asked a lot about testing and how I'd solve their daily issues. Then, surprisingly, a software engineer asked math questions. After that, a Senior SQA Engineer gave me a brain teaser, which was the best part, all about testing. Then there was a 15-minute break, followed by a meeting with the TPM, who manages both dev and testing teams, asking typical TPM questions. Then another SQA Engineer asked about their daily testing problems. Since they're building self-driving cars, expect lots of questions about that, so research autonomous driving systems well. This onsite went great. After that, I had another onsite to meet top executives like the Director and Sr QA Manager. This was more of a conversation to see where I'd fit in. Two days after the last onsite, I got a call from HR for salary negotiation and offer details. Everyone was super friendly, and HR was quick with responses and results. Even though it took 6 weeks, the interview was really fun, and if you know your testing basics, it's easy. They're looking for the right talent, not just hiring in huge numbers. Finishing all the rounds felt good because the questions were satisfying.

I went through the hiring process at Zoox for a QA role and it was a great experience. They had a really clear home test, then a session to go over the code, and some questions about my way of thinking. The people interviewing me were really professional and seemed interested in my technical skills, how I solve problems, and how I work with others. All in all, it felt like a fair and interesting process that gave me a good feel for what Zoox is like and what they expect.
