Hardware Test Engineer
So, there were 4 interviews in total, split into 3 rounds. First, a quick call with the recruiter to go over basics and some behavioral stuff, no tech talk. Then, a technical interview, followed by the final round. The final round had another technical interview and then a math and problem-solving (MAPS) interview.
- Can you provide some basic information about yourself?
- Can you tell me about your project experience?
- Can you describe your experience with basic analog circuit knowledge?
Hardware Test Engineer
The hiring process I went through was super smooth. It kicked off with an initial screening call, which was a good start. After that, I had a technical interview that was both tough and interesting. Everyone was really supportive and encouraging, which made the whole thing feel really positive.
- Can you explain what a voltage regulator is?
Test Engineer
Started with 1-2 calls to check my background. Then a technical review call where I was given a prompt in advance and a few days to prep. This call was to see how I handle problems. Then, about two weeks later, a 6-hour in-person interview. This included a 30m technical presentation, a 45m math and reasoning test (geometry, statistics, aspect ratio), three 45m meetings with different team members and management, a 45m meeting with the Director of the Group that was a spontaneous technical conversation, and a 45m interview with someone from another team who seemed connected to the group. They put a Mass Spring Damper system diagram on the board and asked me to write the EOM and develop a controller.
- For a proposed rigid-body quad copter, what are the degrees of freedom and degrees of control?
- For a proposed rigid-body quad copter, explain how to generate lift, acceleration, and torques about each controllable axis.
- Given a diagram of control software and hardware for a UAV, describe how you would test it using HIL and SIL, what inputs you would use, and how you would verify your results.
