Sales Development Representative
I initially got denied after 2 interviews because I didn't talk enough about my athletic background. The recruiter disagreed with the hiring team's feedback and got me a third interview. In that third interview, I planned to address their feedback directly, but instead, they made me redo the interview as if the previous ones never happened, which really threw me off. I had to find a way to naturally bring up their initial concerns and the reason for my denial. Even though I showed I had the qualities and values they were looking for, I was rejected based on my performance in their role-play exercise, which is something they're supposed to teach in onboarding. It felt way too intense for an entry-level job, and honestly, it felt like they didn't want to hire anyone, given the feedback on the first two interviews. The recruiter was great, though, very supportive. I did everything he suggested – studied, watched videos, learned about the company, expressed my desire for a sales career, and talked about my character – but I was still denied. Despite my strong interest in a sales career and working for ZoomInfo, the third interview left me feeling very unenthusiastic about the team and the company. It was like a bad joke.

Sales Development Representative
The interview process was thorough and efficient! I put in a lot of work prior to make sure I was prepared every step of the way. For my first interview, I got connected with McKenzie Griffin who was my HR go to person. She was fantastic at answering any questions I had about the company, letting me know next steps, and being fully transparent about what the job entailed. She stuck with me throughout the entire hiring process and was a joy to work with. The second and final interview was very intense, but not in a bad way. They just want to make sure you are motivated to work for such a great company.
- Why would you be a great fit for this role at ZoomInfo?
Sales Development Representative
It was pretty straightforward. First, a phone screen, then some aptitude tests, followed by two manager meetings. They were mainly checking for B2B experience. It was all very doable, and the recruiter was helpful.
- Can you describe your sales approach and how you deal with challenges?
