The whole interview thing took forever, like 2 months total, with long waits between interviews. They told me late in the game that the job I applied for went to someone else but they had 2 other openings and wanted to consider me for one of them. I did get an offer, but it was for a lower role and salary, which made me feel like they didn't think I was good enough. The other person got the original job and apparently had a similar experience. That was a big red flag for me, so I turned it down and took another job.

First, there was a 30-minute informal chat with the recruiter. Then, a 30-minute Zoom call with the Hiring Manager where we talked about the role and some background questions. Next, a 15-minute timed cognitive test focusing on math and language; the goal was to answer as many questions correctly as possible. The final 'interview day' consisted of three hours of interviews, each 30 minutes long. Some of these were group interviews with 2-3 other candidates, and some were one-on-one. The last interview was with a senior leader. After the interviews, I spoke with a recruiter about compensation and benefits, and got an offer about a week later. It was a bit unusual that my recruiter changed halfway through, but the second recruiter was very responsive and helpful. Communication was generally good throughout the process.

The whole 2-month interview process was a mess. It started with a recruiter phone screen, then a video call with one manager, followed by three more video calls with different managers, and ended with an in-person interview with four managers. A big issue was the recruiter waiting until after the verbal offer to discuss compensation, which was a huge waste of time because we were so far apart on salary. Because of the recent acquisition, everything was disorganized – we got wrong info, interviewers and schedules kept changing, and responses were slow. It also seemed like the CEO and management don't let PMs have much freedom and change roadmaps for their own pet projects.
