The interview process lasted four weeks and consisted of four interviews. I accommodated their schedule for calls, which was inconvenient for me due to my work hours. The initial interviews went well, but the final one with the hiring manager was disappointing. The manager appeared irritated from the start. The 40-minute interview felt unproductive, with only two questions: one about the common causes of vulnerabilities, to which I mentioned misconfigurations and outdated software, and another asking about my ability to fix them, where I responded with "I can try." It seemed the decision was already made. I received an automated rejection the following day and got no response when I asked for feedback. It's frustrating that a manager would override approvals from CISO, HR, and the technical interviewer. Ultimately, Zoom wasted my time.

So, first I had a call with the recruiter, then I interviewed with the hiring manager. After that, the recruiter called me again to see if I had any questions. Then came the virtual on-site, which had 3 technical interview rounds with the team. Finally, I interviewed with the org director. The recruiter was super helpful and communicative all the way through. It was great that all the interviewers made sure I had enough time to ask my questions.

So, the interview process had a few steps. First, I had a call with a recruiter, just to see if I was a good fit for them. Then, I chatted with the team manager pretty early on, which was cool because it helped me see if the role was a good fit for me too, saving time if it wasn't. After that, there were two technical interviews back-to-back with different team members. Finally, I had one last interview with the team manager.
