My first chat with the recruiter was good. After that, we went straight into a panel presentation, which wasn't ideal. They cut me off and told me to skip half my presentation, even though my accomplishments were supposed to be part of the outline. It felt like they were just going through the motions because I was a referral. I suspect they had already decided on an internal candidate. Their main concern seemed to be about managing underperforming representatives.

The initial contact with the recruitment team gave me a good vibe about the company's atmosphere. Throughout the whole process, I got regular and prompt updates. At every step, the interview focused on the people and the company culture, and the questions were about whether I would be a good cultural fit and had the right attitude for the business. It was a great experience, and I would have really liked to work for this company.

I went through 5 interviews and was a finalist. My last step was to interview with the potential peer group. One of the Sr. BDM's mentioned, "I see you have a lot of conferencing experience going all the way back to operated assisted collaboration, not sure if you would fit in culturely." I did not get past that stage!
