Behavioral Case Presentation

There were four interview rounds in total. The first was a chat with a recruiter about my background and if I was a good fit for the role, just a quick resume look. The second round was with someone who seemed more technical, maybe a technical recruiter, and they asked more behavioral questions, like 'tell me about a time when...', so I had to give concrete examples from my past work. The third round was a case study with the Group Product Manager. The task was to figure out what new features Zoom could develop to get into the healthcare market. This was my first time doing a case study interview, and it felt pretty open-ended and not super structured. I didn't make it to the last round, which would have been with two other product managers. The whole thing took about a month before I heard back.

First, I spoke with HR. Then, there were two rounds for interns, both with people from the team I'd be joining. One person was my mentor, and the other was my +2. The offer call was with HR to go over the housekeeping details.

Behavioral

The interview process was excessive and included work that felt more like free labor than a fair evaluation. Although the role was advertised as remote, I was told I’d be required to work on-site if I lived near an office — a bait-and-switch that should be made clear upfront. The team itself did not inspire confidence; several interviewers seemed unclear on the role and unprepared to articulate how success would be measured. Combined with the company’s heavy current pivot as a last-ditch growth effort, the overall impression is of a struggling business with poor internal alignment. Candidates should proceed with caution. I was given an offer but decided against it based off of my interview experience.
