Data Engineer
I was sent a test link first, and after passing that, I got an interview call. The first interview round went well, focusing on SQL problems. It was a good learning experience, even though I encountered a topic I hadn't seen before. The second round was a DSA round where I solved all problems optimally. The final round was a managerial interview where I answered based on my experience and theoretical knowledge, despite not having prior practical experience as a data engineer. I wasn't selected this time, but I hope to get a chance in the future.

Data Engineer
The entire process wrapped up in about a week. It started with a 1-hour phone screening, followed by a 4-hour on-site interview. The interviewers were really nice and friendly, asking about my past work and the tech stacks I've used. Some interviewers gave me SQL and Python coding challenges. The whole thing moved really quickly, and I heard back the very next day.

Data Engineer
I had an awesome interview experience at Zoom. It kicked off with a recruiter call from Singapore who walked me through the whole process. She even helped speed things up for me when I asked. I really liked how I could always reach the recruiter and get quick replies, even after an offer was made. The interview stages were: Recruiter Screening, Problem Solving & SQL, DS&Algo focusing on Arrays & Lists, System Design covering Dimensional Modeling, Data Architecture, and SQL, a Product Sense interview with the Hiring Manager, and finally a Behavioral Round with the Head of Data. The questions were mostly medium difficulty, and all the interviewers were super nice and helpful. I genuinely enjoyed the whole thing.
- Can you describe how you would build an analytics platform for Slack?
- Explain dimensional modeling and how to define key metrics.
