This interview was quite strange. The recruiter mentioned a preference for candidates near their London office, even though they knew I was in Ireland and the job ad was also based there. His first question was about my willingness to relocate. When I mentioned that a lack of career progression was why I wanted to leave my current job, he stated that at Zoom, career growth as a CSM meant managing bigger clients, pointing out that some people had been there for 8 years. He also knew nothing about the role or its KPIs, just saying it was a 'regular CSM role.' I was surprised by his lack of engagement and preparation. He was one of the least enthusiastic recruiters I've met. Definitely felt like red flags all over the place. It might be a good place for a stable, steady paycheck, but don't expect to do anything significant there.

I had a recruiter screening and then a call with the hiring manager. Both went well, and the hiring manager gave me positive feedback, suggesting I'd move on to talk to another manager. I was told to expect an email from the recruiter to schedule this next step, but I never heard back. Over about three weeks, I sent two follow-up emails to the recruiters and reached out to the hiring manager, but got no response. It's pretty disappointing to be ignored after getting good feedback, especially from a company like Zoom. I would expect at least a rejection email.

I was initially contacted by Kim Young for a phone screening. She stayed involved throughout the entire interview process, providing timely updates and addressing my questions. Following the phone screen, I participated in two interview rounds but was unfortunately not selected to advance after the second round. Kim kindly informed me of the outcome before the weekend and followed up the following Monday with feedback from the team. I really appreciated her professionalism and consideration during the whole process. Unlike some experiences where candidates are left wondering what went wrong, my experience was quite the opposite. It was refreshing to be treated with such respect.
