I applied online for the Recruiting Coordinator role at Zocdoc. The whole thing took about a month and I think around five hours of interviews total. First, there was a 30-minute screening call. Then, about a week later, I went in for an onsite interview. That involved talking to a few people from the recruiting team, including some coordinators. They really seemed to care about stuff like creativity, being coachable, and making sure candidates had a good experience. After the onsite, I had a final round that was another couple of hours with more interviews and a practical exercise. They said I'd hear back the next week. But then, the very next day, the recruiting manager called me. She mentioned some concerns from my final round about my past experience and how I work. I tried to explain how I'd adapt and grow. While we were talking, I saw the same job posting back on LinkedIn, even though it was supposed to be closed. So I figured the decision was already made. The call felt more like a formality than a real discussion. She said she'd let me know on Monday, but I heard nothing over the weekend and my follow-up email was ignored. Finally, I got a generic rejection email late Monday. The whole process felt messy, impersonal, and not at all like the values Zocdoc talks about. It was disappointing, especially for a company that emphasizes candidate experience. My advice is to be upfront, especially when a decision is already made. Don't have fake conversations, and don't repost a job before telling someone they didn't get it. How you treat people matters for your employer brand and just basic human decency. I hope they take this feedback.

I got this job after applying on LinkedIn and the Director of Recruiting got in touch for a 20-30 minute phone screen. After that, I had a one hour interview with a Senior Recruiter. Then, there was a 3 hour interview with two recruiters at a time, each for 30-45 minutes. A couple days later, I got an automated rejection. It felt unprofessional since I took a day off for the three hour interview and they couldn't even call me.
