Operations Associate
Got a message from a recruiter on LinkedIn. After a few emails, we set up a phone call. It was a short 15-minute chat, felt pretty casual, and I left feeling good about it. They then set me up to come in person to meet the team the following week. I got there a little early, but had to wait about 30 minutes past my appointment time. First, I met with the recruiter for about 30 minutes. Then, I had a Skype interview with the operations manager in New York for about 45 minutes. After that, I had another in-person interview that lasted 45 minutes. To wrap things up, I had a final 45-minute Skype interview with an operations director who was in a different office. All 5 interviews seemed to go well.

- Can you explain why your GPA isn't a 4.0?
Operations Associate
I sent my resume Monday and the recruiter got back to me the same day. Tuesday I had two phone interviews back-to-back, one with the recruiter and another with an operations team member. They had me come in for an in-person interview on Thursday. It was four 20-minute interviews in a row. My recruiter told me beforehand that I would get "outside the box" questions, and I was expecting riddles like how many golf balls fit in a plane. Instead, they asked personality questions like, "What's the nicest thing you've ever done for someone?" I found those questions a bit hard to answer because there are so many ways to respond, and I wasn't sure what they were looking for. Everyone was really nice, but they interview a lot of people each day, so I don't think they're super invested in any one candidate. I got a call a few days later saying they "decided to go in a different direction."
- What's an area for self-improvement for you?
- Can you identify the nicest and meanest interviewer you spoke with today?
- Are you a sensitive individual?

A recruiter from ZocDoc reached out to me directly, even though I hadn't applied. I decided to interview since I was looking for a job. It turned out to be a waste of time though. I went through four interviews, but it seemed they weren't really looking to hire skilled people and were only offering low pay. Since ZocDoc is based in NYC, it feels like they're trying to take advantage of the lower cost of labor in AZ.
- What was your college GPA?
