The interview process involved 4 rounds. First, a recruiting screener covering 'why you, why Zip, why sales.' Then, a Hiring Manager Interview focused on behavioral questions. After that, there was a Panel interview where candidates had to give a presentation about themselves and do a mock call, which is a common point where people get eliminated. Finally, a Leadership Interview to check business acumen and do a final vibe check.

So, I was really excited about this role at Zip because of where the company is headed and how great the product is. But honestly, the interview process was a bit of a letdown. The people I talked to were nice and all, but it just didn't have that high-energy vibe you look for in sales, you know? The stages felt pretty cookie-cutter and rushed, making it hard to really get a feel for what makes Zip special. It felt like any other startup, not unique at all, at least not for the sales team. When I asked 'What makes Zip different?', the answers were kinda weak. The interview setup is tough – you get 45 minutes total for a 20-minute presentation about Zip and a mock cold call, which leaves almost no time for my questions. While Zip seems solid, I think the sales development team could work on its team chemistry, energy, and culture. To be real, the interview process made me less interested in joining the sales team there.

The interview process took about 2 weeks. First, there was a 20-30 minute call with the recruiter. After that, I had a 30-minute interview with the Hiring Manager. Finally, there was a presentation where I had to do a mock cold call. Unfortunately, I didn't get past the second interview.
