I went to a job fair and spoke with people from two departments. I submitted my resume. Initially, I got a rejection email with grammar mistakes. But then, 30 minutes later, I was invited to interview for a Traffic department position the following week. We scheduled it, but the day before, it was moved to the next week. The next week, it was postponed again to the week after. I contacted the recruiter, who told me that position wasn't actually open and he was looking for something else for me. We then scheduled an interview for an Account Executive role. When I arrived, I met the recruiter, and he took me to a room where I interviewed with about 7 people, one after another, for 15 minutes each. I was there for about 4 hours in total, waiting for people to become available. The interviews felt more like conversations than typical interviews. Afterward, I was given a tour of the building. I was told I'd hear back within two weeks. After I left, the recruiter called me back to come in the next day to interview with their upstairs boutique firm for a similar account executive role. I met with two people, and they explained the differences between Z Group and Zimmerman Advertising. They said they'd let me know by the next day, but I never heard back. I made several calls and sent an email, but got no response. HR communication was really bad.

The interview process was very smooth. I applied online and then followed up with HR about my interest in an open position. The HR person replied and listed a couple of open positions to see if I would be interested in them as well, since I had the experience. I really liked that she did that because that showed me right then and there that not only would Zimmerman be interested in me, but she cared enough to see me succeed in my new possible role. When it came down to interviewing she gave me the helpful HR tips of researching the company and the people that I would be interviewing with (which is a complete MUST). The interview was in a very relaxed setting. It's just you and the hiring manager or two. My suggestion is to go in and show them your advertising smarts. Give examples of work success's or even problems you have had in your jobs, and what you did to fix them. Overall, I had not only a great experience with HR the interview made me feel like I was making the correct decision in my career choice!

I applied online through the company's career page and got a call from HR within a week. They scheduled me for an in-person interview the next day. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and watched a video while waiting. I then spent about three hours interviewing one-on-one with different people in the retail department. Although it was a bit unusual to meet so many individuals, they all shared similar insights about the role and its demands. The environment felt energetic, though a bit hectic. After expressing my continued interest, I received a job offer in just a few days. Everything is going well so far!
