First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ziba Design.
Interaction Designer
The interview process was great. It had 3 stages. First was a Skype/phone call with senior interaction designers. Then, another Skype/phone call with the head of the IxD department. Finally, there was an all-day onsite interview. The onsite was the highlight because I got to talk with many people from the IxD department and anyone else working at Ziba. Although I might have had to present my work, the conversations felt more like discussions about my process rather than formal critiques or presentations.
- What contributions could you make to a team developing a digital product?
Project Manager
The interview process took a few weeks. The people I spoke with were really friendly and easy to chat with. It was usually in a group setting where you'd have one-on-one chats with a few different people separately. Make sure you know about the company and have some good questions ready for the role. The dress code is more business casual or trendy.
- Why are you interested in working for an agency?
- Can you tell us about yourself?
- What would you say are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
Communication Designer
I got in touch with the design department for an informational chat and after a Skype call with them, I sent in my resume online for the summer internship. Later, I was contacted about interviewing for the position and had a Skype call with the design director and another designer where I had to present two pieces from my portfolio that I chose.
- Could you elaborate on the specific pieces you chose to present from your portfolio?
- Can you provide more details about the specifics of the pieces I presented?
Account Manager
I had a round table interview in their main conference room. It included Creative Directors, account people, and the owner. The interview was going fine until the owner got upset at the end. I'm not sure what I said to make him angry, but it was awkward.
- Could you write a paper on which archetypes?
