First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zensar Technologies.
Project Trainee
My interview was at the Zensar Technologies Pool Campus in Nagpur. Over 2500 students were there. The whole thing was split into 4 parts. First, a 1-hour online test with two parts: 30 mins for reasoning and 30 mins for technical MCQs in JAVA and C++. Then, a 45-minute group discussion with about 6-7 groups of 20-25 people each. After that, a face-to-face technical interview, and finally a face-to-face HR round. It took 2 days, but I got selected!
- Questions covered aptitude topics like ages, trains, numbers, work and time, and speed and distance, along with technical questions mainly on JAVA, C++, and MySQL.
- The group discussion topic was the Role of the IT industry in the Indian Economy.
- In the technical interview, I was asked to define TRUNCATE and DELETE in MySQL and what happens if you insert "**" before data variables when adding a row.

The interview process had 4 stages. First, an aptitude round with two sections, each worth 25 marks and lasting 30 minutes. The questions were a bit harder than average. Second, an extempore round where groups of 20 were given topics to speak on. About 10 people from each group were selected. This round was easy. Third, a technical round that was a bit difficult. The duration varied based on skills, mine lasted about 30-35 minutes. Finally, the HR round, which was average difficulty. The HR looked at personality, background, mindset, future plans, and adaptability.
- What programming languages are you familiar with?
Project Trainee
First, there was an aptitude test with 40 questions in 40 minutes, and two coding questions (finding the 2nd largest element in an array and the sum of digits of a factorial of a number), and two SQL queries (one for max salary, and another I don't remember). Then there was a GD round. Out of 140 students, 35 were selected. In the GD round, each group had 8 members, and my topic was 'How bad communication is bad for the IT sector.' After that, I was selected for a technical interview. They asked me about E-R diagrams, a Fibonacci series program, any recursive program, SQL query joins, linked list reversal, and basic operating system questions like types of OS and memory management. Finally, I was selected for an HR round. The HR round was just for formality. They asked about communication skills. I got selected with 4 LPA.
